Levanto is a Ligurian tourist village overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea that is part of the Cinque Terre National Park. The client involved us in a tourism branding project aimed at deseasonalizing Levanto as a tourist destination traditionally associated with summer by highlighting all the activities that can be done here, particularly sports activities.

Levanto identity system expresses the territory also on a visual level in a way that is easily understandable by a foreign audience, in which the logo shows the idea of Levanto as the gateway to the Cinque Terre.

Visit Levanto visual system is based on a mix of logotype and photographic language, with a carefully studied use of colours. The palette uses the most characteristic shades of the place, from the sea to the typical trompe l’oeil wall decorations of the Riviera Ligure.

The research activity carried out for the development of the visual languages of the brand led to the creation of a set of icons for the touristic activities.

The studio’s contribution to the project also focused on the coexistence between the identity system and the photographic language. Levanto, in the Italian language, comes from “Levante” (“East), and it is a symbol of the beginning itself. For the tourist vising “Cinque terre”, Levanto is usually the starting point, the place where the discovery begins.

Visit Levanto has been implemented in various applications over the years, both online – the tourism promotion website –, and offline – editorial projects and promotional merchandising.

Visit Levanto allowed us to face the challenging tourist communication offers, as we developed a distinctive language to tell the story of tourism experiences peculiarly.
