The Museo Etnografico del Friuli plays an active role in preserving various aspects of traditional Friulian culture, showcasing a vast collection of artifacts dating from the 18th to the 20th century.

For the museum, we designed the visual identity for ‘900 in Corriera: Storia del trasporto pubblico in Friuli and its exhibition itinerary, focusing on infographics and the overall visual design.

The graphic project highlights the historical essence of the exhibition’s artifacts, turning the buses into the undisputed protagonists of the visual narrative, elevated to iconic objects to be displayed and admired. The use of custom-designed halftone patterns emphasizes the historical patina while introducing a more modern and dynamic interpretative approach, thanks to the incorporation of dynamic and irregular patterns.

The communication of historical information is not limited to the display of archival artifacts but extends to the creation of specific infographics. Historical data itself is an artifact and, as such, must be capable of being exhibited and represented.

In addition to the visual communication design, the museum commissioned us to create the exhibition catalogue. This allowed us to include additional and unpublished content and data not presented in the display, making the catalogue a true in-depth extension of the museum’s exhibition.
